I think that look would definitely work. You have a heart shaped face like Reese does. I recently got layers, make sure they are what you want. They sometimes make it difficult for pony tails depending on the shortest layer.

right when I saw your picture, my first thought was BANGS.

Your a young sweet girl, but bangs will def give you that edgy look when you go for it! Try not to layer your hair too much tho, I like one long length instead of the shoppy look.

But isn't your hair a lot thicker than hers? I mean, she doesn't even have a lot of hair. I like your hair the way it is. A lot of people I know are always complaining about so volume, and you've got it.
