How should I style a choppy, layered hair cut?

I plan on asking my stylist to cut my hair like this soon.

I have some layers in my hair already, but when I flat iron it, it all just goes flat.

I was wondering what I should do to style it, so you can see all the layers like in the picture. :)

Should I try a mousse, wax, etc? How about hairspray?

Any suggestions for certain brands/products would be GREAT.

Thanks in advance!

honestly, I love this type of hair style in a pony tail ... don't know why, but i love the choppy look in front w/ the short layers framing the face, and the bangs, but the clean sweep in the back ... it's great for summer, too cause you have a stylish look but your neck doesn't get all hot %26amp; sweaty! I loved it when ashly simpson wore her hair like that and it was dark. that was probably my favorite hair on her (don't like her in general, but loved her hair).

yes you are going to have to spritz in order for it to hold a style, cut it so it'll look more like your avatar. i like that style i used to wear my hair like that

Hair spray should do the trick. I would get a good one form a beauty supply store

i am sorry, but that cut is ugly

atleast on her. look like a darn cock roach

however, to get the look with out it looking flat. put styling lotion in your hair after towel dry and root boost at the root. blow dry hair on medium heat lifting hair up at the root.

then flat iron the hair at the middle to the end of the hair. dont flat iron the hair no where close to the root.

OK

one thing you can do is to have some very subtle low lights on the ends of the layers and this certainly shows where they are but not over the top. another thing is when you straighten the hair put your hair dryer back on to it without the nozzle and blast the hair at the roots in all different directions and you should get a softer More movable look that is not laying flat to your head. as for spritz you don't need anything so wet on your hair. for that sort of style you would be better with a light lacquer shake your head from side to side let the hair rest naturally then give a light spray or get a wide toothed comb i mean like one with 6 or 7 teeth move the hair to the position you want it and give it a spray
